CEVA DSP Cores

CEVA is the world's leading licensor of programmable Digital Signal Processor (DSP) cores. We market a family of synthesizable programmable DSP cores, each delivering a different balance of performance, power dissipation and cost, allowing customers to select a core ideally suited to their target application. The ability to match processing power to the application is an important consideration when designers select a DSP supplier. Our family of cores is largely software compatible, meaning that software from one core can be applied to another which significantly reduces investment in code development, tools and designer training.

CEVA System Platforms provide a plug-and-play environment built around CEVA DSP cores. Implementations include the CEVA-XS1200A™, CEVA-XS1100A™ and Xpert-Teak™ subsystems, which integrate a DSP core, software environment, rich set of peripherals, system-interface modules, and on-chip emulation support.

The DSP cores and System Platforms are supported by CEVA hardware and software development tools, as well as CEVAnet technology partners who provide application software, RTOS implementations, simulation and EDA tools. CEVA DSP cores are also supported by a range of audio, multimedia, and VoIP application platforms.

CEVA-X1641 is a high performance, low power quad-MAC member of the CEVA-X DSP family consisting of 16-bit data width and four MAC units. CEVA-X1641 target markets include 4G (WiMAX, WiBro) cellular handsets and Software radio, smart phones / PDAs, Video & Audio processing for mobile devices, VoIP Gateways & broadband modems, and home entertainment (Digital TV, HDTV, PVR, HD-DVD)..

CEVA-X1622 is a high performance, low power, fully synthesizable DSP with enhanced memory architecture including configurable memory size (64KB or 128KB), and configurable memory bank organizations in 2 or 4 blocks. Target markets include 3G cellular handsets and Software radio, smart phones / PDAs, VoIP Gateways & broadband modems, and home entertainment (Digital TV, HDTV, PVR, DVD).

CEVA-TeakLite-III™ is a third-generation DSP architecture based on the broadly adopted TeakLite family of DSP cores. CEVA-TeakLite-III delivers native 32-bit processing and a dual Multiply-Accumulate (MAC) architecture, making the DSP ideal for deployment in High Definition (HD) audio applications requiring advanced audio standards such as Dolby Digital Plus 7.1, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD.

Additional target applications for CEVA-TeakLite-III include low-cost 2G/2.5G/3G wireless baseband modems, wideband voice and audio processors, portable media players, voice-over-IP residential gateways and dual mode cellular/voice-over-WiFi handsets.

CEVA-TeakLite-II, a single Multiply-Accumulate (MAC) 16-bit fixed point DSP core. The core extends the architecture of CEVA-TeakLite and CEVA-Oak, the most established and successful DSP cores to date in CEVA's DSP family. CEVA-TeakLite-II achieves a 30% increase in performance compared to its predecessor core, and delivers superior code compactness in a small silicon die size.

CEVA-TeakLite-II is designed to meet high volume, but very cost sensitive markets such as 2G/2.5G Wireless Handsets, Portable Media Players, Hard Disks, Optical Drivers, and Digital Cordless Phones. TeakLite-II is fully compatible to both CEVA-TeakLite and CEVA-Oak DSPs at assembly and binary levels which reduces our customers software development costs.

CEVA-TeakLite core is a 16-bit, fixed-point, general-purpose DSP core. CEVA-TeakLite is designed for low-power, low-voltage DSP applications. It features high-performance and flexibility.

Target markets include 2G terminals, Internet audio, disk-drive controllers, cordless phones, IP phones, and medical devices (implantable neuron-stimulation devices).

CEVA-Teak is a 16-bit fixed-point general-purpose DSP core. It's dual MAC architecture features high-performance and bandwidth for complex signal processing implementations. The core is designed for portable multimedia and wireless communication markets.

CEVA DSP cores are available as pre-validated Hard Macros. Using the foundry hard macro version of the IP reduces risk, ensures predictable performance, saves resources, and shortens time to market. Visit hard macros for information on the foundry hard cores available from CEVA.
